MDF

MDF is a product obtained by thermomechanically drying the fibers obtained from wood or other lignocellulosic raw materials to a certain degree of humidity with the addition of synthetic adhesive and then pressing the formed board paste under heat and pressure.

The equal distribution and density of the fibers at every point of MDF allows the processing of both sides of the board as well as its edges by machine without any breakage or gaps between the material particles. In this way, MDF can be successfully used in the production of parts such as table tops, door panels, drawer fronts with beveled edges or profile surfaces.

Production Process

The thicknesses that our production facility produces (10 -12-16-18-22-25-30 mm) and our dimensions are minimum width 1.83 m and maximum width 2.10 m. The minimum length is 2.44 m and maximum length is 4.2 m.

The woods (hardwood-beech-hornbeam-ash) and softwood (pine-poplar) obtained by tender from forest enterprises and producers are stored in the raw material field. The woods are given to the chipping machine by cranes and chips are obtained. They are filled into chip silos by means of a conveyor belt. We obtain the ideal chip for production by sifting the desired ratio of chips (70% hard chip and 30% soft chip) with a conveyor belt. The ideal chips are sent to the Fibration unit, the chips are softened under a certain steam pressure and the chips are fibered by means of knives. The fibers coming out of the mill are glued homogeneously. The glued fibers are sent to the drying by means of steam and dried at a certain temperature (170-180 c’) and sent to the spreading bunker. In the bunker, it is laid on the belt moving with carrier rakes and takes the shape of a cake. The air in the cake is removed by the pre-pressing process. It is sent to the Hot Press thanks to the synchronously moving belt. At a certain temperature, pressure and speed, the paste takes the desired sheet shape. At the press exit, the sheet is sized and after the process is completed, it is rested for 2 days. The rested sheet is sent to the sanding machine to provide the desired thickness and surface smoothness.
